Last Week's picks: There are no sure bets in scouring the waiver wires. Last week was a reminder of that. QB - All three recommendations, Jimmy G, Tua, and Goff, finished as QB 26,22 and 18, respectively. So if you were desperate, it wasn't the end of the world. But it wasn't pretty either. RB - All three recommendations were a bust. Fortunately, this coming week looks a lot better. WR - Dortch managed to get WR 19 last week. Wilson and Brown might have helped get through a rough week, and they were better than the QB or RB picks, but the bar was pretty low. TE - Nothing to see here. Move along… On to the Waiver Wire after Week 3. QB:
- Trevor Lawrence - As the hottest prospect since Andrew Luck, we have been waiting for him to show his potential. Lawrence was QB4 last week, and things are starting to click for him. If he isn't on the waiver wire in your league, you might want to buy low if you still can.
- Jacoby Brisset - Brisset has improved each week with a QB 9 performance last week and is currently at QB 17 for the season. He isn't going to win your league, but he isn't going to lose it, either. If you have been hit with one of the recent injuries, he might be a guy to get you through a few weeks.
- Zach Wilson - Last year's #2 drafted QB should return this week. He looked rough last year and in the preseason, but so did Lawrence. Arguably Wilson has as good or better weapons. There is a ton of risk here, but it might be a high-risk/reward pick.
RB:
- Khalil Herbert - He went off. Montgomery is out for at least a week or two. Herbert might be the pick of the season after this week, showing up with RB 1 for the week.
- Jamal Williams - He was RB 2 this week and going forward, it looks like the Lions are going to shut down Swift until after the bye. Like Herbert above, this could be a steal from the wire that helps you log a couple of wins early this season.
- Breece Hall - Breece has been a good middle-of-the-pack RB this season, and he should be getting Zach Wilson back this week or next. It's hard to say if he does better or worse with Wilson, but I am betting on better.
WR:
- Zay Jones - With the rise of Lawrence above, Zay Jones has been the primary beneficiary. Last week he put up WR 5 performance and sits at WR 21. Going forward, I think he will trend up and could have a solid season if Trevor has figured things out.
- Devante Parker - After doing nothing, literally nothing in weeks 1 and 2, Parker showed up with a WR 16 performance. He has better in him, but losing Mac Jones could hurt him beyond the streakiness he has shown this season thus far.
- Mack Hollins - I think he is hard to recommend, but he rolled out a WR 2 performance this week. I don't think leopards can change their spots, and he hasn't done much historically but last week was pretty sweet. Buyer beware on this one.
TE:
- Jelani Woods - the 6'7" Rookie WR had two CDs acting as a poor man's Kyle Pitts for Matt Ryan. I am high on him in dynasty and didn't expect much this year, but after last week I say go grab him!
- David Njoku - Njoku has struggled to live up to his 1st round draft stock, but this week he went off. We all know he has it in him. The question is whether or not this was a fluke.
