We are just a few hours away from the first Sunday of this 2024 NFL season, and star wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins, Tyreek Hill, was detained for a driving violation. According to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, police pulled Hill over for reckless driving and speeding. Then Hill and the police officer had a verbal altercation, which led to the receiver being put in handcuffs, as seen below in this video.

Hill was right outside Hard Rock Stadium hours before kickoff where the Dolphins are set to face another Florida team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fans were walking on the street as their star player was being detained by police.
Despite all of this, Hill is supposedly ready to go and will play in week one, according to his agent. Rosenhaus said, "I just left Tyreek, and he is getting ready to play today." Obviously, Rosenhaus is unhappy about the situation, calling it "mind-boggling" and "completely unnecessary."

It seems like the Dolphins and Hill dodged a bullet, which wasn't too serious. Having Tyreek out on the field is a massive advantage for the Dolphins, as the star wideout has totaled 3,500 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns in his two years with the team.
It is extremely rare to see a player get detained right outside of the stadium, making this situation pretty rare. Despite all this, Hill will play, and it looks like a major disaster was avoided.
