The New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 11-104 in Madison Square Garden on April 20 to win Game 1.

New York was led by their Villanova Wildcat alumni backcourt Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, who recorded 22 points and combined for 20 rebounds and nine assists. Knicks guard Miles McBride contributed big minutes off the bench, knocking down five three-pointers to finish the game with 21 points, joining Brunson and Hart as the only Knicks to score 20+ points.

While the Sixers were beaten, they kept the game competitive until the fourth quarter. Guard Tyrese Maxey scored a game-high 33 points and was joined by center Joel Embiid, who scored 29 points and recorded eight rebounds and six assists. The Sixers led by three points entering the fourth quarter, however that lead was not safe from Brunson, Hart and McBride.

The Knicks host Game 2 on April 22 at 7:30 p.m., where they look to capture their second win against the Sixers and travel to Philadelphia up two games to none.
