Lamelo Ball sidelined for remainder of season with an ankle injury

Charlotte announced on March 28 that their star guard Lamelo Ball will miss the remainder of the 2023-2024 season due to rehab for his ankle injury.

Ball has only played 22 games all year, last appearing on January 26 in a loss to the now red-hot Houston Rockets. The once Rookie of the Year has played just a fourth of the NBA season, which contributes to Charlotte missing the playoffs for their eighth straight season.

Ball averaged 23.9 points and eight assists in the 22 games played this season, scoring a season-high 37 points against Milwaukee in November. As Ball rehabs throughout the end of the regular season and into the offseason, Charlotte hopes for a healthy return of their once All-Star guard for the 2024-2025 season.
