Suns guard Devin Booker dropped 52 points, a career-high eight three-pointers, and nine assists in a 124-11 win over the Pelicans Monday night.
Booker has found the hot hand in three consecutive games against New Orleans, recording 50+ points in their last three meetings: 58 on Dec. 17, 2022; 52 on Jan. 19, 2024; and the game-high 52 on Monday. However, this performance held the most weight, as Phoenix is hunting down the No. 6 seed in the west, currently held by the Pelicans. Booker scored 50+ points for the eighth time in his career and scored 37 in the first half alone to take a 20-point lead at the half.

Phoenix's win over New Orleans advanced them to the No. 7 highest seed in the play-in tournament; however, if the Suns can capture the No. 6 seed, they would avoid the play-in altogether. The Suns are still a game back from the Pelicans with seven games remaining in the regular season. With a head-to-head tiebreaker victory over New Orleans on Monday, there is a possibility the Pelicans will be awarded a bid to the play-in.
