Steph Curry and Anthony Edwards on the Olympic Floor against Serbia

The semifinal game between Serbia and the USA was a rollercoaster of a game. At one point, the United States found itself trailing by 17 points, but a Steph Curry's led offense turned the tide, surprising Team Serbia fans as they outlasted Serbia and Jokić. This unexpected close finish sends Team USA to the gold medal match, where they will strive to win their fifth straight gold.

Team Serbia held a solid double-digit lead until the 4th quarter, where it all fell apart. Efficient three-point shooting led the way for Serbia throughout the first three quarters, pouring in 15 three-pointers of their own. Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nikola Jokić led the way for Serbia with a combined 37 points. Crucial threes from Aleksa Avramovic and Ognjen Dobric kept Serbia in the lead for most of the game, but when the 4th quarter came around, Serbia couldn't get a three to fall. It is a tough loss for Serbia as they had control for most of the game. On Saturday, they will face another formidable opponent in Germany for the bronze medal.

Steph Curry was the vocal point for the USA offense, pouring in 36 points (one shy of tying Carmelo Anthony's record of 37 points) and nine three-point makes. Along with Curry's near-historic efforts, Joel Embid scored 19 points, shooting a very efficient 8-11. LeBron James did his typical clutch time performance, having a triple-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Along with this scoring trio, the United States held Serbia to just 15 points in the 4th quarter, making this double-digit comeback possible. The United States showed incredible resilience as they now face Victor Wembanyama and France for the gold on Saturday.
