Maxey recorded 52 points, seven assists, and five rebounds, including a perfect 12-12 from the charity stripe, to help the Sixers defeat the Spurs. In the 58-minute game, Maxey was only on the bench for five minutes, and when he was on the court, the Sixers were +14. Maxey's impact on the Sixers' roster is clear, and statistics show that Philadelphia is better with Maxey on the court.
Guard Kelly Oubre Jr. was the Sixers’ second-leading scorer, capturing 26 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Spurs rookie center Victor Wembanyama recorded 33 points, 18 rebounds, and six assists to give the Spurs some life; however, Wemby’s efforts were not enough to stop the Sixers from capturing their fifth straight win.
Philadelphia is on the edge of a postseason appearance, standing at No. 7 in the East, just one game back from the No. 6 Indiana Pacers. With three games remaining in the Sixers’ regular season, Philadelphia needs to win out if they hope to avoid the play-in tournament, starting with capturing a win over the Detroit Pistons at home on Tuesday, April 9.
