The Boston Celtics (58-20) took down the Washington Wizards (17-61) without Jayson Tatum on the floor.

Luke Kornet, who started in Tatum’s place, stepped up and recorded 13 points and 14 rebounds to tally a double-double. Al Horford had 11 points and 10 boards to join Kornet in double-double territory.

Derrick White added 19 points for the Celtics, leading the team in scoring with Sam Hauser on his heels with 18 points and eight rebounds. Jaylen Brown scored 15 and Jrue Holiday scored 13 to round out Boston’s double-figure scorers.

Justin Champagnie led an undermanned Wizards roster with a 15-point, 13-rebound performance, knocking down three triples from long range.

Alex Sarr scored 16 points, Jordan Poole scored 15, Carlton Carrington recorded 14, and AJ Johnson tallied 12. The Wizards have now lost two straight and move one step closer to receiving the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, which would likely be Duke forward Cooper Flagg.

The Wizards travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers on Tuesday, while the Celtics visit New York to challenge the Knicks on the same night.
