Magic vs. Warriors

Desmond Bane set the tone with 23 points and five steals, Anthony Black delivered 21 points off the bench, and the Orlando Magic put together a balanced, wire-to-wire effort to knock off the Golden State Warriors 121–113 on Tuesday night.

Six Magic players scored at least 13, helping Orlando withstand a pair of big performances from Golden State. Stephen Curry poured in 34 points and nine assists, while Jimmy Butler added 33 in the Warriors’ losing effort.

Franz Wagner added 18 points and eight rebounds for Orlando, and Wendell Carter Jr. posted a steady 17-point, 12-rebound double-double. Rookie Tristan da Silva chipped in 15, and Jalen Suggs supplied 13 points and eight assists as the Magic won for the fourth time in their last five outings.

Orlando shot 50.6% from the field but struggled from deep (8-of-32). Golden State suffered similar long-range woes. After opening 5-for-6 from beyond the arc, the Warriors hit just 8 of their next 30. Curry, coming off recent explosions of 56, 49, and 46 points, went 12-for-23 overall and 7-for-15 from three.

The Magic built a 15-point cushion midway through the second quarter before Curry caught fire, closing the half with a flurry of three triples and two free throws to trim the deficit to 67–60.

But Orlando tightened up defensively after halftime. Following a late-third-quarter layup that cut the gap to 10, Curry went nearly 12 minutes without a point. By the time he buried a three with 3:44 remaining, the Magic were in full control, up 115–101.

Jonathan Kuminga (knee) missed his third straight game for Golden State, while Paolo Banchero (groin) sat out his third straight for Orlando.
