The short-handed Detroit Pistons extended their winning streak to eight games Wednesday night, defeating the Chicago Bulls 124–113 at Little Caesars Arena.
Paul Reed led the way with 28 points and 13 rebounds as Detroit improved to 10–2 despite missing its entire regular starting lineup — Cade Cunningham (hip), Jalen Duren (ankle), Tobias Harris (ankle), Ausar Thompson (ankle), and Jaden Ivey (knee) — along with two key reserves.
Duncan Robinson added 23 points before fouling out, while rookie Daniss Jenkins shined in his first NBA start with 18 points and a career-high 12 assists.
For Chicago, Matas Buzelis posted 21 points and 14 rebounds, and Kevin Huerter scored 20. The Bulls have now dropped four straight after opening the season 6–1.
Detroit led by 16 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Bulls stormed back with an 11–0 run to pull within one at 97–96. Reed’s three-point play and a Ron Holland II dunk helped the Pistons regain control with just over eight minutes remaining, and they never looked back.
The Pistons shot a scorching 60.5% from the field in the first half — including 52.9% from three — on their way to a season-high 68 first-half points. Robinson scored 17 before the break, helping Detroit set the tone early.
The Bulls visit the Utah Jazz on Sunday, while the Pistons host the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.
