Raptors snap three-game losing streak with win over Nets

The Toronto Raptors (29-50) defeated the Brooklyn Nets (25-53) thanks to the help of rookie Jonathan Mogbo, who tied his career highs with 17 points and 11 rebounds to tally the game's double-double.

Both teams, which hold the No. 11 and 12 seeds in the Eastern Conference, have already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Eight raptors, including Mogbo, finished the contest with double-figure scoring. Ochai Agbaji (15), RJ Barrett (13), AJ Lawson (13), Jamison Battle (12), Cole Swider (12), Orlando Robinson (11), and Jared Rhoden (10).

Jamal Shead, who finished with nine points, just shy of double figures, tallied a career-high 12 assists.

While the Raptors are eliminated from playoff contention, they have won their first game in April, snapping a three-game losing streak.

Reece Beekman led eight Nets in double figures with 14 while tallying five assists and three steals. Keon Johnson contributed 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, and Dariq Whitehead, Trendon Watford, Drew Timme, and Maxwell Lewis also had 13 points apiece.

Tosan Evbuomwan recorded 12 points and Ziaire Williams tallied 11.

The Raptors host Charlotte on Wednesday night for their home finale, while the Nets continue their home stand on Tuesday night when they host New Orleans.
