Tyrese Maxey scored 29 points and came up with three steals to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 103–91 victory over the Orlando Magic on Friday night, despite a rough shooting night from beyond the arc for both teams.

Joel Embiid added 22 points and nine rebounds for Philadelphia, while Paul George finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, scoring 12 of his points in the second half. The win was the fifth in six games for the 76ers, who have now won four straight on the road.

Orlando was led by Desmond Bane’s 23 points. Anthony Black contributed 21 points, and Paolo Banchero recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in the loss.

Shooting was a struggle from long distance all night, as the teams combined to go just 8 for 57 from 3-point range. Philadelphia finished 4 for 28 (14.3%), while Orlando shot 4 for 29 (13.8%).

Maxey, the NBA’s third-leading scorer entering the game at 30.7 points per contest, labored early, scoring 12 points in the first half on 3-for-12 shooting and missing all four of his 3-point attempts. He found his rhythm late, finishing 10 for 22 from the field and 3 for 8 from beyond the arc.

His second 3-pointer came with 1:36 left in the third quarter, giving the 76ers a seven-point cushion at a time when they were just 3 for 22 from deep. Maxey’s final 3-pointer, with 3:42 remaining, pushed Philadelphia’s lead to its largest of the night at 101–85.

The game was briefly disrupted in the first quarter when referee Bill Kennedy was helped off the court in a wheelchair after suffering an apparent leg injury.

The Magic were shorthanded, playing without Tristan da Silva (back spasms) and Jalen Suggs, who missed his fourth straight game with a right knee contusion.
