The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly agreed to trade Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Nick Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The deal sends Anthony and Coffey west, while Milwaukee adds frontcourt depth with Richards and Hayes-Davis.
Anthony, the 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft, has served exclusively as a backup in Milwaukee, averaging 6.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 42.4% overall and 30.6% from three. In Phoenix, he is expected to play a similar role behind Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin, helping the Suns manage the minutes and wear on their backcourt as they continue their playoff push.
Coffey, who signed with Milwaukee as a free agent last summer, averaged 2.4 points per game and will now provide Phoenix with additional depth. Nick Richards, acquired by Milwaukee, offers size and rebounding, while Hayes-Davis, a former Wisconsin standout and deep reserve for the Suns, is averaging 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds this season. The trade gives both teams roster flexibility as they prepare for the final stretch of the season.
