Kawhi Leonard scored 28 points, 21 of them in the first half, as the Los Angeles Clippers overwhelmed the Brooklyn Nets 126-89 on Sunday.
James Harden added 19 points, John Collins chipped in 18, and Jordan Miller contributed 16, while Ivica Zubac recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The win marked the Clippers’ eighth in nine games, following a victory over the Lakers on Thursday.
Brooklyn struggled from the start, shooting just 28% in the first half and finishing 29 of 86 (34%) overall, including 9 of 43 (21%) from beyond the arc. Danny Wolf led the Nets with 14 points, and Egor Demin added 12. The loss extended Brooklyn’s skid to four straight games and 10 of their last 11, following a double-overtime defeat to the Boston Celtics on Friday and a 120-66 blowout loss to the Knicks earlier in the week.
The Clippers set the tone early, building a 24-point lead in the first quarter and pushing the advantage to 38 points in the second, heading into halftime with a commanding 68-37 lead. Los Angeles maintained control through the third quarter, entering the fourth up 96-66 and cruising to victory.
Sunday’s lopsided win mirrored a previous meeting in Los Angeles on Jan. 15, 2025, when the Clippers beat the Nets 126-67. The 59-point margin remains the Clippers’ only 50-point win in franchise history.
