The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly acquiring guard Luke Kennard from the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Gabe Vincent and a 2032 second-round pick, according to multiple reports. The move gives the Lakers a much-needed boost in 3-point shooting, an area where they rank 25th in the league in both makes (582) and attempts (1,670). Kennard has been one of the league’s most efficient reserve shooters, making 74 of 149 triples this season and ranking first in the NBA with a 49.7% 3-point shooting percentage. He has also hit 100 or more 3-pointers in each of the last five seasons.

Vincent, who signed with the Lakers following a strong run with the Miami Heat that included a 2023 NBA Finals appearance, has struggled with injuries in Los Angeles and is averaging 4.8 points per game on 34.6% shooting overall. He now heads to Atlanta, which continues to reshape its roster ahead of the trade deadline.

The Hawks have been active in recent weeks, reportedly acquiring Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield in one deal, Jock Landale in another, and Duop Reath along with two picks in a separate swap. By bringing in Vincent, Atlanta also reportedly gains an $11 million trade exception, providing additional financial flexibility as it adjusts its roster for a postseason push.
