Kon Knueppel broke the NBA rookie single-season 3-point record and scored 28 points, and Brandon Miller added 33 as the Hornets rolled past the Pacers on Thursday night.
Knueppel entered needing six 3-pointers to surpass Keegan Murray’s rookie mark of 206, set in 2022-23. The No. 4 overall pick finished 8 of 12 from deep to reach 209 in just 59 games. His record-breaking shot came with 9:41 left in the fourth quarter after a ball fake and dribble left created space for a rattling 3 that brought the crowd to its feet.
Charlotte improved to 12-3 over its last 15 games and extended its road winning streak to nine. The Hornets seized control early, holding Indiana to 3-of-18 shooting in the second quarter to build a 67-46 halftime lead. Miller poured in four straight 3-pointers in the third as Charlotte pushed the margin to 107-82 entering the fourth.
Andrew Nembhard led Indiana with 20 points and Micah Potter added 19, but the Pacers allowed 130-plus points for the third straight game — just the third time in franchise history that’s happened.
