LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets rolled past the Washington Wizards 129-112 on Sunday night to complete a four-game season sweep.
Ball hit 10 of his 15 attempts from beyond the arc, while Kon Knueppel added 28 points and knocked down five 3-pointers. Knueppel now has an NBA-best 198 3s this season, nine shy of the rookie record set by Keegan Murray in 2022-23. Brandon Miller chipped in 22 points.
Charlotte broke the game open in the third quarter, connecting on 12 of 14 shots from deep in the period and finishing 25 of 46 (54.3%) from long range for the night. Leading 61-56 at halftime, the Hornets quickly stretched the margin when Miller hit two 3-pointers and Ball added another in the opening minutes of the third. Knueppel followed with back-to-back 3s to push the lead to 15, and Washington never got closer than 13 the rest of the way.
Bilal Coulibaly led the Wizards with 17 points, scoring 15 in the first quarter. Washington fell to 16-40, missing an opportunity for its first three-game winning streak since February 2025.
The Hornets (27-31), who had dropped three of four after a nine-game winning streak ended before the All-Star break, remain 10th in the Eastern Conference standings.
