The Charlotte Hornets have bolstered their backcourt as they prepare for a potential SoFi Play-In Tournament run, acquiring guard Tyus Jones and a pair of second-round picks from the Orlando Magic in exchange for cash considerations.

Jones, who has seen his role reduced this season, is averaging 3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for Orlando after serving as a starter in 2024–25. The veteran floor general is expected to provide depth behind Charlotte’s crowded backcourt, which now includes newly acquired guards Coby White and Mike Conley Jr., star point guard LaMelo Ball, and standout rookie Kon Knueppel.

This move follows Charlotte’s recent addition of forward Ousmane Dieng from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for center Mason Plumlee, as the Hornets continue to reshape their roster ahead of the trade deadline and their push toward the postseason.
