Tyrese Maxey poured in 40 points and scored the game-winning layup with 1.3 seconds left as Philadelphia rallied from an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit. Joel Embiid added 37 points, and the Sixers closed on a 13-2 run to send Sacramento to its seventh straight loss.

Wizards 109, Bucks 99

Kyshawn George scored 23 points and Alex Sarr posted 16 points and 17 rebounds as Washington beat a short-handed Milwaukee squad. The Wizards dominated the glass 61-43 and held the Bucks scoreless over their final four possessions to secure their second straight win.

Norman Powell scored 21 points and Bam Adebayo added 20 points and 12 rebounds as Miami survived a late Chicago rally. The Bulls trimmed a 13-point fourth-quarter deficit to one, but Pelle Larsson’s late dunk and a missed 3 by Coby White sealed it for the Heat.

Kevin Durant scored 31 points as Houston pulled away in the second half to snap Atlanta’s four-game winning streak. The Rockets outscored the injury-depleted Hawks 35-24 in the third quarter and never looked back.

Hornets 123, Mavericks 121

Kon Knueppel scored a career-high 34 points, including two clutch free throws in the final seconds, as Charlotte spoiled Cooper Flagg’s historic 49-point night. Knueppel set a Hornets rookie record with eight 3-pointers, and the Hornets won their fifth straight.

Jamal Murray scored nine of his 27 points in the final 2:26 as Denver edged Brooklyn and spoiled Michael Porter Jr.’s return to Ball Arena. Porter finished with a season-high 38 points for the Nets, but Murray’s late flurry lifted the Nuggets.

Dillon Brooks erupted for a career-high 40 points as Phoenix knocked off Eastern Conference-leading Detroit. Brooks scored 24 points in the first half and finished 13 of 22 from the field as the Suns won for the fifth time in seven games.

Timberwolves 123, Thunder 111

Anthony Edwards scored 26 points and Minnesota tied a season high with 22 made 3-pointers in a win over Oklahoma City. Jaden McDaniels went a perfect 5-for-5 from deep, and the Timberwolves turned 16 Thunder turnovers into 30 points.
