Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball is expected to suit up Thursday night against the Houston Rockets, one day after he was involved in a two-car crash in Charlotte. Ball was not listed on the team’s injury report.
The incident occurred Wednesday at an intersection in the city. Video obtained by WSOC-TV showed Ball’s camouflage-colored, custom Hummer colliding with another vehicle. Footage later showed Ball, wearing a Hornets hoodie, exiting his truck and getting into a different car before leaving the scene. Police were present, though an official report has not yet been released.
The condition of the other driver was not disclosed, but video appeared to show that individual exiting their vehicle and walking toward Ball’s truck following the collision. Ball’s vehicle sustained visible damage, including a missing left front tire.
On the court, Charlotte enters Thursday’s matchup riding significant momentum, having won 10 of its last 11 games. Ball has been central to that surge, fueling one of the league’s hottest stretches as the Hornets continue their push up the standings.
