Desmond Bane took over late, scoring 16 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter as the Orlando Magic erased a double-digit deficit and pulled away from the Toronto Raptors for a 130-120 victory on Friday night.
Paolo Banchero posted a well-rounded line with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, while Wendell Carter Jr. added 23 points and seven boards. Anthony Black chipped in 25 points and six assists as Orlando won its second straight after dropping four in a row.
Toronto appeared in control for much of the night behind Brandon Ingram, who poured in 35 points. Scottie Barnes finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, six assists and four blocks for the Raptors, who were aiming for a fifth consecutive road win. A 19-8 run late in the third quarter, fueled by Ingram and Barnes, gave Toronto a 99-86 edge entering the final period.
Bane flipped the game in the fourth, drilling three straight jumpers — two from beyond the arc — during a decisive stretch that broke a 104-104 tie. Orlando caught fire from long range, hitting 6 of 9 3-pointers in the quarter and finishing 17 of 34 from deep for the game.
All five Toronto starters scored in double figures, with Ja’Kobe Walter providing 13 points off the bench. The Raptors shot 51.2% overall but went cold late, making just five of 18 shots in the fourth quarter and only 7 of 28 from 3-point range.
