Cooper Flagg scored 20 points and Brandon Williams knocked down the go-ahead 3-pointer with 33.9 seconds remaining as the Dallas Mavericks edged the Sacramento Kings 100-98 on Tuesday night, snapping a seven-game road losing streak.
Anthony Davis added 19 points and 16 rebounds for Dallas, which trailed 98-97 before Williams buried the decisive triple to put the Mavericks in front for good. Sacramento had multiple chances to respond in the closing seconds, but Dennis Schröder, Russell Westbrook and DeMar DeRozan all came up empty from beyond the arc.
DeRozan led the Kings with 21 points, while Zach LaVine scored 20 in his return from a nine-game absence due to a left ankle sprain. Maxime Reynaud chipped in 14 for Sacramento, which dropped its sixth straight game and fell to 8-29, the second-worst record in the Western Conference. The Kings’ last win came Dec. 27 — also against Dallas.
Williams finished with 18 points off the bench for the Mavericks, Naji Marshall scored 15 and Daniel Gafford grabbed 13 rebounds. Dallas trailed 58-46 at halftime but closed within 78-76 entering the fourth quarter and outscored Sacramento by 14 over the final two periods.
The Mavericks visit Utah on Thursday, while the Kings head to Golden State on Friday.
