Trey Murphy III poured in 35 points, Zion Williamson added 31, and rookie Derik Queen recorded a triple-double as the New Orleans Pelicans snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 128–107 win over the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
Kyshawn George and Tristan Vukcevic led Washington with 15 points apiece. The Wizards played without newly acquired guard Trae Young, who was sidelined with quadriceps and knee issues.
Queen shined in his return to the Washington, D.C., area, delivering the second triple-double of his young career. The former Maryland standout finished with 14 points, 16 rebounds and 12 assists, setting season highs in both rebounds and assists.

Young was active on the bench and received a warm ovation from the crowd when he was introduced during a first-quarter break. His trade from Atlanta to Washington was finalized earlier in the day.
New Orleans built a 60–50 halftime lead and stretched it to 21 points in the third quarter. Washington trimmed the deficit to 10 early in the fourth, but the Pelicans responded with a decisive 21–5 run to put the game away.
Jeremiah Fears added 21 points for New Orleans, which shot 53% from the field and dominated the paint, outscoring Washington 68–46.
The Wizards placed seven players in double figures. Alex Sarr contributed 14 points but grabbed just one rebound.
