The Phoenix SunsisOrlando Magic 113-110 on Saturday night, winning on a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Jalen Green.
Moments after Jalen Carter tied the game for Orlando with a corner 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining in the second overtime, Green answered from the right corner, drilling the game-winner as the horn sounded. It was a dramatic finish to an otherwise difficult shooting night for Green, who went 6 of 26 from the field and 2 of 6 from the free-throw line. The clutch shot marked just his second made 3-pointer in 11 attempts.
Grayson Allen paced Phoenix with 27 points in his return from a four-game absence due to a sprained right ankle. He scored all seven of the Suns’ points in the first overtime. Collin Gillespie added 19 points, while Green finished with 16.
Orlando was led by Desmond Bane, who poured in 34 points on 12-of-18 shooting before fouling out in the opening minute of overtime. Paolo Banchero contributed 26 points and 14 rebounds as the Magic, winners of four of their previous five, nearly stole it late.
The Magic forced overtime by scoring the final six points of regulation, capped by a dunk from Anthony Black with 57 seconds left.
Phoenix played without Devin Booker, who is sidelined at least a week with a right hip strain. Dillon Brooks logged just seven minutes before exiting with a left-hand injury, and the team said it would provide an update Sunday. Jordan Goodwin chipped in 17 points off the bench before leaving in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg issue, while Oso Ighodaro had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Orlando was without starting guard Jalen Suggs due to back spasms.
