Dillon Brooks scored 23 points and Devin Booker added 19 as the Phoenix Suns handed the Dallas Mavericks their eighth straight loss with a 120-111 victory Tuesday night.
Phoenix seized control early and never gave it back. Booker’s turnaround jumper with 10:01 left in the first quarter put the Suns ahead 2-1, and they did not trail again. Phoenix built a 31-point cushion at 61-30, appearing on its way to a runaway win before Dallas mounted a late charge.
Naji Marshall led the Mavericks with 31 points, and rookie Cooper Flagg finished with 27. Flagg’s putback with 6:57 remaining trimmed the deficit to 108-96, and Marshall’s floater with 2:09 left brought Dallas within six at 115-109.
Booker responded with a mid-range jumper and later split a pair of free throws to push the lead back to nine. After P.J. Washington converted a driving layup, Booker buried a pullup jumper to seal the win and halt the Mavericks’ comeback bid.
Dallas has not won since Jan. 22 against Golden State and is mired in its longest losing streak since dropping eight in a row in 2016.
