Aaron Donald has been officially ruled OUT for the game this Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Donald who was just selected for another Pro-bowl has been dealing with a high ankle sprain since week 12. At first the team was taking it slow and trying to see if he could return prior to the end of the season however it now appears that the injury will be season ending.
High Ankle Sprains make it very difficult to change direction and generate power which is extremely tough for a position like defensive tackle. Pain, instability, swelling and weakness are all symptoms of the injury and the data shows that the typical defensive lineman misses 3-4 games for those who are even able to return with many others not being able to. Donald looks to be another name added to the list of unable to as he works to recover. If you remember there was talk about Aaron Donald not returning to football at all this year. Of course, he did but this will be something to watch over the off season.
