Player Updates

Jets star rookie running back suffered a knee injury Sunday that now has been reported as an ACL tear which is what was initially feared. By video the right knee of Breece Hall was twisting as he suffered a varus stress to it most likely causing the tear to the ligament as well as a minor meniscus tear.

Appreciate the endless love and support! Another step along the journey, see y’all soon❤️🤞🏾 https://t.co/igPCYca5Qn

Breece had taken over lead RB responsibilities for the Jets rushing for 463 yards on 80 attempts prior to the injury. He will now focus on rehabilitation and recovery following surgery so that he can return for the 2023 season. Motion, stability and strength will be his major focus prior to introduction to sport specific activities.

The Jets will look to either trade for another RB or look to Michael Carter in the backfield (or both) for depth at the position. Carter had 639 yards rushing last year in 14 games so he is no stranger to what needs to be done. As for Breece the data shows that running backs usually decrease in performance their first year back from ACL reconstruction but actually do better than pre-injury levels in year two. We wish the best for Breece as he recovers from this.
