All-Pro Linebacker had set-back landing him on IR.

Shaquille Leonard, one of the most important pieces to the Colts defense is out for a minimum of four weeks after aggravating his previous surgically repaired back injury. Prior to surgery he had a nerve issue that was causing radiating pain down his left leg. This type of surgery known as a decompression is to take the compression off of the nerves which in turn decreases or eliminates the symptoms.

It does sound however that Shaq is continuing to have symptoms that have been aggravated and due to these he is unable to compete at the level he needs to. A big blow for the Colts but important to rest Leonard and have him only return once he is back to full health.

Usually once the symptoms have cleared following a full recovery players who have had this type of injury and surgery in the past return at full speed without much performance decrease.

We will continue to follow the story but expect Shaq to be out the minimum of four weeks with a potential longer stint if not the remainder of the season until hefeels 100% and is fully cleared again to return.
