Javonte Williams suffered a knee injury yesterday in Denvers week 4 loss to the Raiders. Initial video analysis showed the varus injury immediately putting him at risk for an LCL injury. At the time it was the hope that he had avoided additional internal ligament to his ACL however unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
From video analysis #Broncos RB Javonte Williams looks to have had his knee in full extension and sustained a varus injury which is the mechanism for a possible LCL sprain or lateral capsule sprain. He will need an MRI to evaluate structures. Will continue to monitor for updates pic.twitter.com/ZBoMXC61tN

Further imaging did confirm that he has torn his ACL, LCL and posterior lateral corner. This is a type of injury is a 9-12 month minimum recovery with additional time on top of that needed to regain full strength and function.
#Broncos RB Javonte Williams had an MRI and his tests were what we were hoping he would have been able to avoid. He did in fact suffer a torn ACL in addition to his LCL and posterior lateral corner and his season is over. He will now have surgery and start his recovery. #NFL pic.twitter.com/hZFkxv3maw

With this injury the Denver Broncos will look to Melvin Gordon and Mike Boone to take the carries for the remainder of the season. Thats limited depth at a position that they rely heavily on and with the fumble issues that Gordon has had and the risk of further injury to this position they may also look toadd some depth moving forward as well.
