Anthony Richardson Injury
Colts rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson could be out for a month, many reports say.
Richardson suffered a Grade 3 AC Joint Sprain in a big divisional win against the Titans this week. Before the injury, he was 9/12 with 98 yards. Zach Moss had a big game to propel the team to victory, rushing for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns on 23 carries.
So far this year, Richardson has shown tons of potential while playing but has also shown a tendency to get hurt. In Week 1, he got hurt in the final minutes of the game after taking a hit low on a quarterback run. In Week 2, he missed most of the game in Houston after sustaining a concussion and was out against the Ravens in Week 3 as well.
Sources: #Colts starting QB Anthony Richardson received an initial diagnosis of a Grade 3 AC joint sprain, which would mean he’d miss a month or more. He has an MRI this morning to confirm.

Either way, it’s likely Gardner Minshew next week and moving forward. pic.twitter.com/27Z04eGlJL
Indianapolis does not know how much time he will miss exactly, and is currently debating placing Richardson on the Injured Reserve list while he heals. If this is the route the Colts choose, he will miss at least 4 games.
Replacement
Gardner Minshew will take Richardson’s spot throughout the duration of his injury. Minshew has been solid with the Colts so far this year when Richardson was hurt, leading the team to wins against both the Texans and Ravens.
Minshew so far this year is completing 68.7% of his passes and has not yet thrown an interception on the season. He has also thrown for two touchdowns and 553 total yards. He has also not yet lost a game when replacing Richardson.
Summary
The Colts will lean on the running back duo of Zach Moss and Jonathan Taylor while Richardson is hurt and will look for a big divisional win against Jacksonville this weekend. Staying above .500 during this stretch will be great for the Colts, and is doable with their upcoming schedule.
