    Matt Milano

Buffalo Bills’ Linebacker Matt Milano and Defensive Tackle Daquan Jones suffered injuries, causing the Bills' defense to lose more defensive starters.

“Matt has a leg injury that requires surgery,” said Buffalo Bills' head coach Sean McDermott.

Milano attempted to sack Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback Trevor Lawrence and fell awkwardly after getting rolled up into a pile of linemen. The Bills believe he has suffered a possible season-ending knee injury.

The Bills are losing a commanding force in their defensive secondary with the loss of Milano, who earned first-team all-pro and a Pro Bowl team in 2022.

Defensive Tackle Daquan Jones was also injured, tore his pec, and will require surgery after a solid season with two and a half sacks and five quarterback hits.

Rookie third-round pick Dorian Williams was the first linebacker off the Bills' bench to replace Milano, but veteran linebacker Tyrel Dodson quickly replaced him.

Both injuries came a week after Bills' starting cornerback Tre' Devious White tore his Achilles in Week 4, which hurt the Bills' defense even more in their 25-20 loss to the Jaguars.

Josh Norman Catching a Football During Warm Ups

Assistant head coach and defensive line coach Eric Washington confirmed that the Bills are signing their former cornerback, Josh Norman, to replace White. Norman played under Washington and head coach McDermott at the beginning of his career for the Carolina Panthers.

Buffalo’s Banged Up Score (BUS) dropped from tenth to 18th in overall health after injuries from Milano and Jones from Week 4 to Week 5. The Bills defense will need to regroup if they hope to capture a win against the New York Giants at Highmark Stadium.
