The Denver Broncos defeated the Green Bay Packers 19-17 on October 22 in Denver, Colorado.

While the game itself was close, throughout the game, the Packers continuously lost starters due to injury, mainly on the defense, which played a factor in the 19 points the Broncos scored against Matt Lafleur's defense.

Going into Sunday's matchup, Green Bay was already missing three defensive starters, CB Jaire Alexander, LB De'Vondre Campbell, and S Zayne Anderson, forcing them to play second-string players instead. On October 23, all three players are still ruled out for the Packers Week 8 matchup against their division rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, on October 29.

During the matchup against Denver, Green Bay lost three more defensive starters, CB Eric Stokes, S Darnell Savage, and DT Devonte Wyatt, who were all ruled out for the remainder of the game against the Broncos. Alexander, Campbell, and Anderson, whom the Packers ruled out for their game against the Vikings, Stokes, Savage, and Wyatt are all questionable for Week 8.

In other bad news, Packers rookie TE Luke Musgrave was spotted leaving Empower Field at Mile High in a walking boot, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. He is also questionable to return in Week 8, and the Packers will watch his status closely this week to get a more accurate sense of his likelihood of playing.

On top of that, Green Bay's second-year WR, Christian Watson, has also been ruled questionable after appearing to injure his right knee on the final drive of the Week 7 game in Denver. Watson has already missed time this season due to hamstring/thigh injuries to his same right leg. Like Musgrave, Watson's status will be monitored closely for the next week as Green Bay prepares for the 2-4 Vikings.

While the Packers have started the season 2-4, four of those games have finished with a one-score-point differential, three of those Green Bay has lost. If the Packers can find a way to stay healthy, there is a possibility they won't be in one-score battles in the fourth quarter, but until then, Green Bay will continue to fight for their third win of the 2023 season.
