Steelers' Helmet Next To NFL Football

Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett suffered a knee injury and left the field in the third quarter of the Steeler's 30-6 loss against the Houston Texans.

"The initial testing on Kenny Pickett yesterday didn't point to an ACL Injury, so the hope for the Steelers QB is it'll only be a brief absence," said Mike Garafalo of NFL Media.

Before exiting the game, Pickett threw for 114 yards, and an interception as the Steeler's offense struggled against the Texans dominant defense and had to rely on Kicker Chris Boswell to get points on the board.

Pickett, dominant in college for the University of Pittsburgh, has been a promising talent for this young Steelers offense, surrounded by other young stars like RB Najee Harris and WR George Pickens.

After the injury to Pickett, backup QB Mitch Trubisky took the field for Pittsburgh but could only record three completions for 18 yards.

Trubisky, who split time with Pickett during Pickett's rookie season, is not a newcomer to the starter role. Trubisky was the starting QB for the Chicago Bears for four years, recording his best season in 2018, where he threw for 3,223 yards and 24 touchdowns.

With Pickett likely to miss multiple weeks, Trubisky prepared to start in the Steelers Week 5 Matchup against their divisional rivals, the Baltimore Ravens.
