Let's go lions could be heard throughout Lambeau Field Thursday night as the Detroit Lions trounce the Green Bay Packer 34-20. The Packers grabbed the first lead of the game by way of a field goal following a Jared Goff interception. This would be the only lead the Packers would have the whole game due to a stingy Lions pass rush and clogging running lanes for Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon. Amon-Ra St.Brown scored the first touchdown for the second time in four weeks, switching on the lights for the Detroit offense to then score 27 points in the first half. Green Bay’s offense continued to stall as it did in week 3 against the New Orleans Saints with their field goal being their only points of the first half.

The Detroit Lions are beginning to live up to their preseason hype after putting on an offensive clinic in the first half under the lights of Lambeau. David Montgomery will be on the newspaper headlines tomorrow morning in the state of Michigan after rushing for 121 yards, 3 TDs, on 32 carries after a thigh injury that kept him out in week 3. Montgomery’s monster game allowed Jared Goff to competently manage the Lions offense going 19/28, 210 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int. Amon-Ra St.Brown has now scored two first time touchdown scorer prop bets which might be something you should keep an eye on if you like to wager. Without star corner Jaire Alexander, St. Brown hauled in 5 catches for 56 yards and the score. The Lions continue to build on the early season success that they have been curating through embracing Dan Campbell’s gritty and speedy style of football that he has been preaching since his arrival in 2021. As long as Detroit can stay away from the injury bug, they should continue to win games and win the NFC North for the first time ever and their division since 1993.

Jordan Love and the Packers offense found some traction in the second half putting up 17 points but Love seemed unable to fully digest what Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn was throwing at him. Love finished the game 23/36, 246 yards, 1 TD, 2 Int, and a total QBR of 86.9. Love’s inability to read and adapt to the Lions pressure, recording 5 sacks,  along with tight zone coverage ultimately led the Packers downfall Thursday night. Former 2nd overall pick Aidan Hutchinson made sure Love felt the pressure all night as he recorded 1.5 sacks, 1 tackle for loss, and 3 quarterback hurries. Jordan Love came back to earth tonight after coming back from 17 down in the fourth quarter last week and will need to quickly build off of the experience gained tonight in Green Bay.  I believe Love can continue to have success this season and luckily has some extra time with the long week ahead to prepare for a road visit with the Las Vegas Raiders.
