Close Up Picture Of Mike Williams

Chargers Wide Receiver Mike Williams tore his ACL and is out for the remainder of the season in their Week 3 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

    Per Adam Schefter

Williams played a terrific game, recording seven catches for 121 yards and a touchdown to help the Chargers capture their 28-24 victory.

The loss of Williams means a few different things for the Chargers' offense. First, it allows fellow starter receiver Keenan Allen to receive more targets. Allen has a spectacular game with 18 receptions for 215 yards, including a 49-yard touchdown pass to his fellow receiver Mike Williams on a trick play midway through the third quarter.

Justin Herbert Flashes a Play Call

Second, Williams' injury will force first-round rookie Quentin Johnston to step up and help fill Williams' spot, along with Second-year receiver Josh Palmer. Expect Johnston and Palmers to see an increase in targets from Justin Herbert in the upcoming weeks and Allen's targets to jump as well.

The Chargers take on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. If the Chargers offensive line can contain Max Crosby and company, Herbert should have plenty of time to find his younger receivers.
