After starting the first twelve games of the season 10-1, the Philadelphia Eagles are now on a two game losing streak and are tied for first in the NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys after a commanding 33-13 win by Dak Prescott and company. The Cowboys continue to be the hottest team in the NFL, now on a five game winning streak, as well as this being their eighth straight home game with scoring thirty plus points. Dak Prescott continues to show the league why he is now the MVP frontrunner, 24/39 for 271 yards and two touchdowns only staticizes the seven year veteran's consistent run of offensive production and determination to help this football team win. I never buy the hype the Cowboys get every year since Jerry Jones has not won a Super Bowl or gone to an NFC Championship since 1996 but something seems different about Prescott and this Cowboys team this year. Prescott outplayed a bewildered Jalen Hurts who could not find the endzone all evening ending 18/27 for 197 yards and 5 rushes for 30 yards. The only way the Eagles found the endzone was by way of scoop and score from rookie Jalen Carter. This dominant Cowboys win now makes the race for the number one seed in the NFC a much tighter battle and the Eagles could find themselves in a wildcard position if this losing streak continues.

Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are now in gut check mode after losing back to back games by twenty plus points. Jalen Hurts seems banged up and the A.J. Brown had a tough night getting away from Stephon Gilmore even though he recorded 9 receptions for 94 yards. The Cowboys defense stayed committed to stopping the run, holding the Eagles rushers to only 106 total rushing yards. Hurts and the Eagles offense had no luck gaining any sort of traction, fumbling the ball three times, giving the Cowboys great field position too many times. This carelessness with the football did not do the Eagles defense any favors, allowing over 400 total yards of offense. Philadelphia has another tough test next week as they travel to Seattle to face a Seahawks squad that is still in the NFC Wildcard hunt and will not roll over easily. I expect Jalen Hurts and the Eagles to bounce back, but a road trip on Monday Night Football might cause more problems for a team that cannot seem to shake the losing bug at the moment.

The Dallas Cowboys continue to have a season full of record setting performances after undrafted kicker Brandon Aubrey became the first kicker to make a 59 and 60 yard field goal in the same game. Aubrey is now 30/30 in his NFL career and his pinpoint accuracy wrapped up a dominant display from a Cowboys team that is looking to prove they are the team to beat in the NFC. Micah Parsons found himself in the record books as well, becoming the second player besides Reggie White to record 12 plus sacks in his first three seasons. Dallas continues to rise to the occasion and has one of the most productive offenses in the NFL. Prescott has now thrown for 3,505 yards, 28 touchdowns and 6 interceptions in a season that could find him playing the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship. Prescott will find himself playing in another tense game next week as they travel to Orchard Park for a date with the 7-6 Buffalo Bills who are desperately trying to keep their playoff dreams alive. I expect Dallas’ defense to have a field day with a turnover prone Josh Allen, but anything can happen with a Bills team that has their backs against the wall.
