    Week 6 SNF

Coming into week 6’s Sunday night game between the struggling New York Giants and Buffalo Bills was teased with a -15.5 spread from the Las Vegas oddsmakers. With this large of a spread spectators assumed the Bills would take care of business in Orchard Park especially with Daniel Jones on the Giants sideline with a neck injury. This game, like many of the primetime games as of late, had a slow start with the Bills starting the game with three drives ending in a punt and one with a fumble. The Giants were unable to capitalize on the sputtering Bills offense by entering the halftime break with only a 6-0 lead. The Giants had a major opportunity on 1st and goal with fourteen seconds left but poor clock management by backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor led the Giants to run the ball and the clock out of the first half. After a slow first half the Bills offense finally came to life in the fourth quarter, scoring all 14 of their points to eventually beat the Bills 14-9 in a game that would come down to the wire. Taylor drove the Giants down the field with less than two minutes left to have one final shot at the end zone from the Bills one yard line to lose on a play action fade to TE Darren Waller, who could be argued was held on the play.

The New York Giants now move to 1-5 on a season that can be characterized as lackluster, especially in offensive production. The Giants have failed to score a touchdown in the first half this season which is the result of their lack of offensive identity. Even with one of the best running backs in the NFL in Saquon Barkley, who rushed for 24 carries for 93 yards and four receptions, the Giants seem to not have a clue on what kind of team they want to be. Tyrod Taylor cannot be the brunt of the blame for this loss after going 19-28 for 175 yards in a fill in role for Daniel Jones, but Brian Daboll needs to find some sort of offensive rhythm before the Giants end up with the worst record in the lead. A bright spot for this struggling 1-5 team is that Barkley had solid production after coming off an ankle injury that kept him out three straight weeks. The Giants will continue to try to find some sort of identity as this disaster of a start will now mesh into a not so easy next five weeks facing; Washington, the Jets, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Washington again on the road.

Bills fans will be leaving Orchard Park with high heart rates after the rollercoaster of a game on Sunday night. Josh Allen continues to have ebbs and flows of offensive production after getting shutout in the first half and questionable decision making. Allen was able to come alive when he needed to, throwing two touchdown passes on their only two scoring drives in the fourth quarter. Allen seemed to struggle with the defensive pressure the Giants were inducing, but Allen was able to find his safety valve in Stefon Diggs 10 times for 100 yards on 16 targets. The Bills will grind out this gritty win with a stain after running back Damien Harris had to be taken to the hospital after a tackle. Early reports said Harris had feeling in all extremities but is going through further testing. The Bills will look to fix their early game offensive script after showing little gumption in the first half. This will be at the top of their priority list as the 4-2 Bills have a visit with the 1-5 Patriots, who have a better defense than their record advertises.
