Deshaun Watson
Predicted Time Out: 3-5 Weeks
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners may have to grab Dorian Thompson-Robinson (I hope everyone gets this is a joke) better yet: week-to-week based on who’s playing which defense
Let’s face it…Deshaun Watson’s comeback this week was abysmal. Coming off his rotator cuff strain he went 1/5 for 5 yards and an interception. To make matters worse he re-injured his shoulder. Luckily, he avoided a head injury, but the shoulder re-injury is a little concerning. The decrease in performance and ease of re-injury does not bode well for the future. I would not start him moving forward until he proves that he can consistently throw well and is past this injury. Data would suggest that even if he can return in the next 1-3 weeks his performance will still be decreased.
Some clarity on Deshaun Watson’s injury: doctors told him that he has a strain of the subscapularis within the rotator cuff and he continues to have both pain and weakness with movement. This type of injury in baseball normally causes pitchers to miss 4-6 weeks. Watson continues…

Nick Bolton
Predicted Time Out: 7-9 Weeks
Fantasy Impact: Minor productivity decrease that should increase once replacement is comfortable
Nick Bolton has proven himself to be one of the best players on KC’s defensive unit but luckily for Chiefs kingdom, linebacker is a place where they have depth. When Bolton left the game Drue Tranquil was able to fill the spot and they have added depth thanks to Willie Gay and Leo Chenal. I don’t forsee this having a huge impact on the defenses overall performance. For Bolton however he will miss roughly 2 months the team says and though at times our data suggests differently that does seem accurate barring any unforeseen setbacks from surgery and recovery.
Darnell Savage
Predicted Time Out: 4-5 games
Fantasy Impact: If Green Bay is playing a high-powered passing offense maybe avoid them that week.
Green Bay has been taking hits in their secondary this season and week 7 was no different. Safety Darnell Savage re-injured his calf and had to leave the game. Normally a 2–3 week recovery, Savage was questionable to play week 7 and they decided he could but that proved to be a bad decision as he fell to the ground in the first half and was ruled OUT after the half. Due to the re-injury and most likely increased severity this will most likely be at least a 4-5 week recovery with short-term IR.
Packers safety Darnell Savage will be placed on injured reserve, per ESPN’s @RobDemovsky. Savage is expected to return this season but will need a month to let his calf injury heal.

Christian Watson
Predicted Time Out: 0-1 Week
Fantasy Impact: If Christian is available you can play him, if not a player like Josh Downs or Rashee Rice might a play as they have been seeing significant targets.
Watson and the packers did receive some good news following a tough day of injuries Sunday. WR Christian Watson’s MRI came back clean. Watson had an awkward landing trying to make a catch and many speculated that he may have suffered ligament damage. Imaging following the game however proved the opposite and that his ligaments are intact. With that being the case it will come down to pain and swelling on whether he can play this week and if he plays we don’t see any fall off in production. Obviously if he doesn’t play you probably don’t want him in your lineups…
Christian McCaffrey
Predicted Time Out: 0 games as long as his weekly TD streak is alive
Fantasy Impact: Decrease in production but made up for by TDs
McCaffrey only had 45 rushing yards on 15 carries against the Vikings but his 51 rec yards and 2 TDs still crushed it in fantasy. The Oblique injury wasn’t enough to stop him and though most would be down in productivity (which he still was), his ability to make something out of nothing and his versatility still make him a threat. McCaffrey hasn’t stopped scoring a TD per game and as long as that streak holds he will be playing I think.

Deebo Samuel
Predicted Time Out: 2-4 Weeks
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners may want to think about putting him on IR if they have that option in their league and at a minimum find a replacement that is trending upwards like Zay Flowers, Jakobi Meyers or Drake London)
Originally it looked as though Deebo had the least severe injury out of the big 3 49ers players however it came out that he suffered a hairline fracture and will be out a minimum of 2 weeks. Our injury expert Dr. Matt thinks that may be on the low end and that frankly short-term IR isn’t off the table for him. Even if he misses only 2 games though don’t expect him to come back and score a bunch of fantasy points. He will most likely be down in snap% and yards when he returns as he works his way back.
Jerome Ford
Predicted Time Out: 2-3 games
Fantasy Impact: Kareem Hunt will take the RB load as long as he can stay healthy.
Ford who looked like he may take the majority of the carries after Week 6 and a big run to start week 7 ended up with just 74 yards and injured his ankle in the process. They are calling it a “low-grade, high-ankle sprain” and are saying 1-2 weeks for his return. Data says running backs miss around 3-4 games with a high ankle and even though this may be “low-grade” I don’t see any chance he comes back after 1 week and 2-3 is much more reasonable depending on how he is feeling.
Gerald Everett
Predicted Time Out: 2-4 games
Fantasy Impact: Grab Donald Parham if still available
Everett was originally reported to have suffered a quad injury Sunday but head coach Kevin Stefanski followed up saying it was in fact a hip injury he suffered. He didn’t add any additional info so we have to go with the data on this one. The data says TE’s who suffer “hip” injuries miss 4 games on average however we don’t know severity but assume that he will be out at least 2 games to give it some time given the lack of info. What’s more concerning is all TE’s who returned after hip injuries decreased at least 20-30% in snap percentage their first game back and in overall performance. He will be one to watch the practice report to see how he progresses.
