Alex's Waiver Wire Targets for Week 4

    Quarterbacks

    Sam Darnold

Darnold and the Vikings are legit, as they are now 3-0 on the young season with impressive back-to-back wins against the Niners and the Texans. With that comes Darnold, who is the QB4 in fantasy this season, throwing for multiple touchdowns in every game and throwing four this week against the Texans. With an average of 19.3 points per game and having elite weapons in Justin Jefferson and Aaron Jones, Darnold might be a nice pickup if you desperately need a quarterback. Darnold is only rostered in 16.3% of ESPN leagues.

    Justin Fields

Another surprising story this season is that of the Steelers and the Fields, who are also 3-0 in the young season. Fields had his best fantasy game of the season, throwing for 245 yards, a passing touchdown, and also rushing for a touchdown. With the impressive start and comfortability in the offense increasing for Fields, it is hard to see him losing the starting job to Wilson if he is healthy. Fields is a good stash or streaming option, depending on your team's needs. He is rostered in 24.1% of leagues on ESPN.

    Running Backs

    Chuba Hubbard

Hubbard and the Panther's offense exploded this weekend for 36 points and a win. New starter Andy Dalton sparked this offense, making it viable to play Panthers players in fantasy. Hubbard rushed for 114 yards on 21 attempts, also bringing in five receptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. With this massive performance, Hubbard was the RB4 for the week. With Jonathon Brooks still out and the Panthers offense producing points, Hubbard is easily a weekly flex option and could even slide into that RB2 spot. He is rostered in 67.5% of ESPN leagues, so grab him if he is available.

    Braelon Allen

Last week, I wrote about Allen as a good handcuff for Breece Hall owners. But after another solid week, bringing 9.8 PPR fantasy points with 11 rushing attempts and three receptions, it is clear that Allen is more than just a handcuff. With a season-high in opportunities last week and 5.1 YPC, it is clear that he is a good stash and could even work his way up to a flex role later in the season. Allen is rostered in 28% of ESPN leagues, so target him if he is available in yours.

    Bucky Irving

Irving was a player I wrote about a couple of weeks ago as a player who is more efficient than Rachaad White and could have a chance to take over the backfield. Now, heading into week four, it is clear that Irving is the more efficient back out of the two. Irving is averaging over six yards per carry compared to White's two yards per carry, and HC Todd Bowles confirmed Irving's workload will increase. Irving is a must-pickup and is only rostered in 32.8% of ESPN leagues.

    Wide Receiver

    Jauan Jennings

Jennings had a MONSTER coming out performance this weekend, catching 11 balls for 175 yards and three touchdowns. His 46.5 fantasy points performance moved Jennings to the WR4 on the season. Jennings played 85% of the snaps and has a relaxed schedule coming up playing teams like the Patriots, Cardinals, and Seahawks; Jennings is a must-start, and as long as Deebo is out, he could be a viable WR2/Flex play every week. Jennings is rostered in 36.2% of ESPN leagues, so prioritize him on the waiver wire.

    Darnell Mooney

Mooney is another option that fantasy managers should be looking at. Coming off a season-high in both targets and receptions and playing at least 93% of the snaps over the past three games, it is clear that Mooney is the WR2 in this Falcons offense. Mooney has been the WR16 over the past two weeks, and the Cousins to London/Mooney connection has been growing. Mooney could be a sneaky flex play for players struggling at the wide receiver/flex position with a more leisurely schedule coming up. He is rostered in 62.9% of ESPN leagues.

    Quentin Johnston

It is now obvious that Johnston is the WR1 for the Chargers this season. Playing a season-high in snaps (80%), having a 20.6% target share throughout the season, and averaging a touchdown a game, he provides a valuable role even in this run-first offense. Johnston is easily a weekly flex option and could maybe slide into that WR2 role. Although a Herbert injury again does scare me, I would try to pick up Johnston if he is available, as he is rostered in only 42.7% of ESPN leagues.
