Alex's Week 5 Waiver Wire Targets

    Dontayvion Wicks

Wicks had a MONSTER game with the return of QB Jordan Love in week four. Wicks had five catches for 78 yards, two touchdowns on Sunday, and a career-high 13 targets. With Cristian Watson as an IR candidate and probably going to miss some time, Wicks might be a low-end WR3 candidate for your team. He led Green Bay in targets and played a season-high 76% of the snaps; it is clear that he is a favorite with Watson out. Wicks is only rostered in 9.7% of leagues on ESPN.

    Xavier Legette

Legette shined in his outing Sunday against the Bengals. He finished with six catches for 66 yards and a touchdown while playing a season-high 87% of the snaps. The first-round wide receiver seems to be taking full advantage of his playing time with veteran Adam Thelin on the IR. With another season-high ten targets, only second on the team behind Dionte Johnson, Legette provides solid flex value to banged-up teams. Legette is only rostered in 25% of ESPN leagues.

    Wan’Dale Robinson

Robinson is a player I wrote about after week one when he led the Giants in targets and seemed like a good flex option. After another target-heavy game against the Cowboys on Thursday, it is clear that Robinson is the WR2 on this Giants roster. With 38 targets over the past four games and a season-high in both targets (14) and catches (11), it is clear that this Giants offense is running through Nabers and Robinson. With Robinson being targeted on average 9.5 a game, he is an easy flex option and could even slide into that WR2 role if this heavy target share continues. Robinson is only rostered in 27.1% of ESPN leagues.

    Trey Sermon

Sermon is a good pickup if Jonathan Taylor is ruled out for week five. Taylor is dealing with a mild high ankle sprain but may still be able to go for next week. If Taylor is ruled out, Sermon is a must roster and an RB2/Flex role play with a favorable matchup against 0-4 Jacksonville. Sermon has shown some promise when given opportunities, so if you have room to stash or need a handcuff for Taylor, Sermon is your guy. He is only rostered in 0.9% of leagues on ESPN.

    Kareem Hunt

Hunt is another player I wrote about right after the Chiefs declared that Pacheco was going to the IR. With Steele fumbling again in back-to-back games, it is clear that Hunt is the lead back for this Chiefs team. Hunt had 14 carries for 69 yards and averaged over 4.9 yards per carry in his first game back with KC. He should see more opportunities as he gets more time with the Chiefs system. I prefer him over Steele and Edwards-Helaire. Hunt is only rostered in 21.6% of ESPN leagues.

    Tucker Kraft

Another Packers player who benefited from QB Jordan Love's return was TE Tucker Kraft, who saw a career-high in targets (9) and also brought in six receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown. Clearly, it was his best performance of the season, and he finished the last six weeks of last season as the TE8. With tight ends being awful this season, Kraft is easily a streamable option at the position, and with Love returning, it could make Kraft a lock at the tight end position. He is only rostered in 4.7% of ESPN leagues.
