The Denver Broncos announced Wednesday that Bo Nix will start week one against the Seattle Seahawks. He is the first Broncos rookie to start week one since John Elway back in 1983.

Nix was picked No. 12 overall in the 2024 NFL draft. He will be starting over Jarrett Stidham and Zach Wilson.
Nix has played the majority of both the Broncos’ preseason games so far. Against the Colts, he threw 15-21 with 125 yards and a touchdown. He had an even better performance against the Packers, going 8-9 with 80 yards and a touchdown.

The Broncos end their preseason on Sunday playing against the Arizona Cardinals. They then travel to Seattle for their week one matchup.
Denver will hope their first-round pick can flip their poor performances over the last few years. They have not finished with a winning record since 2016, and have not made the playoffs since Peyton Manning last won them the Super Bowl in 2015. Despite the very small sample size, it seems Broncos fans may be able to get excited about the future once again, and Sean Payton is bringing the team in the right direction.
