As we are now just one week away from the 2024 NFL season, the Brandon Aiyuk contract saga has ended. After a rollercoaster of an offseason, Aiyuk decided to take the deal that has been on the table since August 10th and re-signed with the San Francisco Forty-Niners on a four-year $120 million dollar deal with $76 million coming in as a guarantee. This deal is reportedly front-loaded, with $47 million coming in between now and April 1st, 2025. Aiyuk now has the 5th highest annual income per year among receivers and has now solidified his relationship with the 49ers.

It was a surprising turn of events as Aiyuk made many comments and posts throughout the offseason, making some fans think his relationship with the 49ers had no return. Also, many swirling rumors of potential trades with the Commanders, Patriots, Steelers, and Browns made a return to the 49ers look unlikely. However, just like in the previous cases of Robbie Gould and Deebo Samuel, the 49ers were able to get the job done. Now, with most of their offense set, the Niners look to repeat themselves as NFC champions.
In the end, Brandon Aiyuk accepted the same deal that has been on the table since August. 10, per league sources. His hold-in did not alter any part of his new four-year, $120 million extension. The only player now missing from this dominant Niners offensive group is star tackle Trent Williams, who has held out since training camp started and has been fined $50,000 each day for his absence. If the Niners are able to figure out a contract with Williams, they should be the clear favorite to win the NFC.
