The Kansas City Chiefs were able to continue their winning ways and take down the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, starting the season 1-0.
The Chiefs won the game by a toe after Ravens' tight end Isaiah Likely was unable to stay in bounds on the final play of the game. His big toe landed out of bounds, leading to a 27-20 Chiefs Victory.

The Ravens came into Arrowhead looking for revenge from the 2024 AFC Championship game, but once again fell by a touchdown. They started off strong, marching right down the field and scoring via a Derrick Henry touchdown, but stalled out until right before half where they were able to kick a field goal.
In the second half, the Chiefs went up 10 points multiple times, thanks to touchdowns by Isaih Pacheco and Xavier Worthy, but gave the Ravens one last chance with less than two minutes to go. This is when Likely could not get his second foot down, despite being an inch away.
Regardless, Likely was one of Baltimore's best players all night. He recorded nine catches for 111 yards and a long touchdown, which was a remarkable play.
ISAIAH LIKELY SO GOOD

The Ravens also got a very big performance from reigning MVP Lamar Jackson. He rushed for 122 yards and added 273 yards through the air. He also had the touchdown throw to Likely. Jackson seemed to miss two big throws at the end of the game, but Baltimore had plenty of opportunities to take the game.
This loss should not raise any concerns around the Ravens' team, and they will look to bounce back next week against the Raiders.
The Chiefs on the other hand were able to continue their AFC dominance and beat one of the favorites for the title. As expected, Patrick Mahomes put up a great game for Kansas City, going for 291 yards and a touchdown. He also threw an interception on a deflected pass.
Rookie Xavier Worthy had a huge impact on the game. His first career touch turned into a 21-yard rushing touchdown, which showed his explosive speed on full display. His second touchdown came in the fourth quarter, when he got wide open for a 35-yard catch and walked it in.
Xavier Worthy is really a Kansas City Chief 😳

Despite it only being the first game of the 2024 NFL season, the Chiefs proved they are still the team to beat and the best in the league. Even with Travis Kelce having an off game, Kansas City was still able to pull off a win against another team that is expected to be one of the best. The Chiefs will look to build off this game and take down the Lions next week, who were one game short of the Super Bowl last year. If the Chiefs can start off with wins over the Lions and Ravens, that would be an impressive feat for the reigning champs.
