The Washington Commanders have decided to trade their former first-round pick Jahan Dotson to the Philadelphia Eagles, their in-conference rival.
Dotson was traded for a third-round pick and two seventh-round picks. The Eagles also acquired a fifth-round pick.

Dotson was a starting wide receiver for the Commanders, sitting only behind Terry McLaurin.
So far, in Dotson’s two NFL seasons he has accumulated 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns. He played all of the Commanders games last season.
Dotson will now help bolster an already top tier wide receiver core in Philadelphia. He will be slotted in the WR3 spot behind stars AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. The Eagles hope this will help the team remain more consistent and stop them from sputtering like last season.
There are few CB1’s that can line up opposite AJ Brown.

There are fewer CB2’s that can line up opposite DeVonta Smith.
There are no CB1, CB2, CB3’s that can line up opposite Brown, Smith AND Dotson.
Kellen Moore has coordinated two, #1 offenses. This year will be #3. #Eagles https://t.co/Z3Lun9XQGP
Dotson is not the only NFC East foe that is joining Philadelphia this upcoming season. Superstar running back Saquon Barkley also joined the Eagles in the offseason from the New York Giants. Together they will help power the Eagles to the top spot in the NFC.
Philadelphia, already seen as one of the best teams in the league, continues to improve. They have one of the best offenses on paper and have lots of potential on defense. Rookies Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell will both play a role in helping the defense improve. If they can do that, they will be one of the favorites for a Super Bowl.
