Rams star receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to miss an extended amount of time, and possibly be placed on the IR, according to coach Sean McVay.

Kupp got hurt midway through the second quarter in a blowout loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He had four catches for 37 yards, but got hurt at the end of his fourth reception.

Kupp has had a rough couple seasons, being unable to stay healthy since 2021. When he is healthy, he is one of the best pass catchers in the game however. We saw this during the Rams Week 1 loss against the Lions, which Kupp hauled in 14 catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.

With Kupp out, the Rams passing game is going to be very questionable. Puka Nacua was put on IR just last week, so now their superstar duo are both missing time. Los Angeles will have to start to establish a run game, something they have not yet been able to do. In two games, Kyren Williams has only posted 75 yards on 30 carries. He has two touchdowns as well.

If they are forced to throw the ball, they will target players such as Demarcus Robinson or Tyler Johnson. Matthew Stafford will have a tall task ahead, but he is a good player for this position.

The Rams will likely be without Kupp and Nacua for their games against the 49ers, the Bears, and Packers. They have a chance to return Nacua after the Packers game, which is a bye week so they will have the chance to regroup, but they have to turn the tides and get at least one win on the board if they want to have a chance at the playoffs when their stars return.
