Dak Prescott became the highest paid player in NFL history early Sunday. The deal got done just a few hours before Dallas kicked off their season against the Browns.

Prescott signed a four-year contract worth up to $240 million, and $231 million guaranteed. Prescott is 31 years old.

Last year, Prescott threw for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns, with nine interceptions. He also rushed for an additional 242 yards and two touchdowns.

Against the Browns on Sunday, Dallas put out a dominant performance, but Prescott did not have to do much. He threw for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Dallas has now resigned their two biggest pieces on offense. With Prescott and CeeDee Lamb now locked up for the next few years, now is the time that they must win a Super Bowl.

In his career, Prescott is 2-5 in the postseason. With the money he is making now, that has to change. He has to bring his team to the Super Bowl in this four-year window, or this contract will be viewed as a waste of money in the future. Dallas has very good odds to win the NFC East, competing with Philadelphia. If they can top the division, they will prove they can play with anyone in the league, and have to get over the playoff slump they have been in for years.
