Titans DeAndre Hopkins is set to miss the next 4-6 weeks with a knee injury according to the team. Hopkins injured the knee at practice during training camp at some point this week and looks to have tried to play through some of the pain after wrapping the knee but ultimately had to call it quits.
Beat reporter for the team Paul Kuharsky called the injury a strained knee and judging by the tape job the medical team chose it looks to possibly involve his lateral collateral ligament (LCL). Hopkins could be seen at practice going through drills with the left knee wrapped with some extra support added to the outer part of the knee.
As @PaulKuharskyNFL reported, the initial diagnosis is 4 - 6 weeks. The #Titans are optimistic but as of now, best case scenario is Hopkins is ready for the Bears in the season opener. https://t.co/bZdNKZna4q

If it is his a mild LCL sprain, then expect Hopkins to be on the field for week 1 against the Chicago Bears. The team will want to be careful however and give him proper time to heal as if Hopkins rushes back, he could reinjure the knee and keep himself out even longer. If he allows the injury to heal then he will lower that risk and shouldn’t have any issues in returning to his normal pre-injury production.
Hopkins ended his campaign last year with 1’057 yards and 7 touchdowns on 75 receptions. This season he will look to improve on that as he also chases a contract extension. The Titans will need him in good form if they want to compete in a talented AFC South this season.
