Tagovailoa concussion history has all eyes on him, as many fans and analysts wonder if Tua will step away from the game after suffering his third concussion in the NFL since 2020. His concussion will leave him sidelined until at least Week 8, to give him time to recover, and evaluate his future in the NFL.
This is not the first time Tua has missed time due to a concussion. He missed a total of five games in the 2022 season, suffering two separate concussions. Not only missing time and being carted out on a stretcher against the Cincinnati Bengals, but behind sidelined for the remainder of the season after suffering his second concussion against the Green Bay Packers in December, 2022.
Tua missed the Dolphins playoff matchup against the Buffalo Bills due to the concussion he suffered against Green Bay. The Dolphins have signed veteran quarterback Tyler Huntley to add more depth to their QB room. Miami backup QB Skylar Thompson is first in line to star in Week 3 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
Tagovailoa will be evaluated as the season progresses, but it is clear that Miami is now in search for a new QB 1.
