AJ Terrell Gets Extended
The Atlanta Falcons have signed their best cornerback AJ Terrell to a four-year deal.
Terrell has been one of the best corners in the game since entering the league and got paid as such. His $81 million and $65.8 million guaranteed are the highest a corner has ever gotten on a four year deal.

Impact on an improving defense
According to Pro Football Focus, since 2021 Terrell ranks third in the league in forced incompletions with 34 and third in the league in completion rate allowed with a 38.3%.
While being very good in coverage, many do criticize Terrell’s lack of interceptions as he only has four in his career. Despite this, he still is able to make an impact on every game and will remain one of the best in the business.

This extension comes after a very productive week from the Falcons front office. Atlanta was able to boost their defensive line by trading for Matthew Judon a few nights ago. They were also able to sign safety Justin Simmons out of free agency.
Looking Ahead
With the Falcons looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017, they are certainly making strides in the right direction. They have a much improved defense, and they now have Kirk Cousins at the quarterback position who will look to lead their young but promising offense.
Atlanta is currently the favorite to top the NFC South, and may be able to make a run in the playoffs if they are able to get in. They will kick off their season on Sept. 8 where they host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
