    Giants vs. Cowboys Preview

The New York Giants (2-9) and Dallas Cowboys (4-7) will clash on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in a storied NFC East rivalry.

Both teams are seeking redemption in a challenging season. The Cowboys enter the game fresh off a much-needed victory over the Washington Commanders. While their playoff hopes are slim, Dallas will aim to build on their recent momentum.

Meanwhile, the Giants are riding a six-game losing streak, most recently suffering a 30-7 defeat at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite their struggles, the Giants hope to use this nationally televised game as a springboard for better performances.

For Dallas, backup quarterback Cooper Rush has stepped into the spotlight following Dak Prescott's injury, keeping the offense functional and efficient. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, a dynamic playmaker capable of game-breaking plays, anchors the Cowboys’ offensive attack.

Defensively, Dallas is led by Micah Parsons, one of the league’s most feared pass rushers, and Trevon Diggs, a ball-hawking cornerback who can turn any mistake into a big play. The Cowboys’ defense will look to dominate the line of scrimmage and exploit the Giants' offensive weaknesses.

The Giants, however, have endured a season plagued by injuries and inconsistencies. Quarterback Drew Lock is expected to start in place of Tommy DeVito, who is sidelined with a forearm injury after Daniel Jones requested to be released before Week 2's games. Lock, who has had limited playing time this season, will look to spark an offense that has struggled to find rhythm.

Wide receiver Malik Nabers, a promising rookie, has shown flashes of potential and will be a key target. Nabers has captured 67 receptions for 671 receiving yards and three touchdowns despite missing multiple games with a concussion earlier this season.

Historically, Dallas has dominated this rivalry, winning six consecutive meetings and 13 of the last 14 matchups. The Cowboys swept the Giants last season with decisive victories of 40-0 and 49-17. This Thanksgiving Day game, however, offers the Giants an opportunity to break the streak and gain some pride in front of a national audience. The Cowboys, favored by 3.5 points, will leverage their home-field advantage and better overall roster to secure another win in this rivalry.

This game represents a chance for the Cowboys to continue their upward trajectory and keep faint playoff hopes alive. For the Giants, it’s about finding positives in a disappointing season and potentially delivering an upset that could galvanize the team heading into the year's final stretch. Both teams have plenty to play for, and fans can expect a fierce and competitive battle between two historic foes.

Kickoff is set for 4:30 PM ET on CBS.
